“Abortion is Black genocide. What happens to the mind of a person, and the moral fabric of a nation that accepts the aborting of the life of a baby without a pang of conscience?” (Rev. Jesse Jackson, speech, 1990)
Abortion Robs Our Future
With more than 84 abortions per 1,000 women, Washington, D.C. kills more children through abortion than any other state in the U.S.. New Jersey stands in 6th place with more that 37 abortions per 1,000 women. Maryland is the 7th highest state with more than 35 abortions per 1,000 women. Close behind is Delaware with more than 28 abortions per 1,000 women and Virginia is close behind with more than 2666 abortions per 1,000 women. (Pro-Life Maryland/Family Planning Perspectives 1987 study)
Black women comprise about 12% of the total female population in the United States, yet undergo over 30% of all abortions. (American Life League pamphlet “Black Genocide”)
Planned Parenthood’s strategies for the marketing of child disposal services to the Black community have been very successful. Based on a 1986 statistical analysis developed by a University of Houston professor using statistics from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it was determined that approximately 1% of the Black population had been aborted by 1975; by 1980, almost 2 ½%; by 1985, 3%; and, by 1992 the figure represents 4 ½%. By the mid-1990’s, in most of our communities, “abortion outstrips births by as much as three-to-one”. (Grand Illusions, pg. 99). This means for every 1 child born in most black cities, as many as 3 have died to abortion.
Abortion has a genocide affect in the African American community. The number of Black unborn babies dying from abortion in 1983 corresponds to (a little more than) 2% of the total community. This highlights that pre-born Black children experience extermination by abortion at more than two times the rate of White pre-born children. (Based on American Life League pamphlet “Black Genocide”)
